Three Dolton men face murder charges in connection with the fatal shooting of a gas station attendant during an armed robbery.

Eric Brewer, 45; Derrick Fils, 45; and Julian Upshaw, 21, have been charged with first-degree murder in connection with the killing of 19-year-old Arshad Vahora of Harvey, who was working Dec. 28 at the Clark gas station, 733 E. 142nd St., Dolton.

Brewer was the last of the three to be apprehended. He was nabbed Wednesday morning (Feb. 14) in Gary, Ind., FBI agents said.

The FBI Violent Crime Fugitive Task Force, comprised of Federal Bureau of Investigation agents, Chicago police officers, Cook County Sheriff’s deputies, and Illinois State Police troopers, arrested Brewer at 6 a.m. Feb. 14 at a home on 14th Street in Gary.

Brewer remains in Gary and is going through the extradition process, according to Dolton Police Chief Robert Collins Jr.

Special Agent Garrett Croon, FBI Chicago media coordinator, credited the FBI Merrillville Task Force with providing great assistance in Brewer’s arrest.

Upshaw was captured Saturday in Robbins and is being held in Cook County Jail without bond.
