STEM Saturday: Rocketry and Spaceflight

Students, ages 7 and older, will learn all about rockets and spaceflight as they construct their own working model rocket. Estes model rocket kits will be supplied, and the class will go outside to launch the rockets and have a pizza lunch. “Paper Tigers”

The screening of “Paper Tigers” and following panel discussion is designed to increase awareness of the harmful effect of trauma in children and adults. “Paper Tigers” follows a year in the life of an alternative high school that has radically changed its approach to discipline, becoming a model for how to break the cycles of poverty, violence and disease that affect families. The event is sponsored by the DeKalb County Community Mental Health Board.
