Hispanic Heritage Activity for Teens

The Green Lens Environmental Film Series

This week’s film is “Chasing Ice.” The film is the record of one man’s mission to change the tide of history by gathering undeniable evidence of the changing planet of earth. Within months of that first trip to Iceland, the photographer conceived the boldest expedition of his life: The Extreme Ice Survey. With a band of young adventurers in tow, the photographer began deploying revolutionary time-lapse cameras across the brutal Arctic to capture a multi-year record of the world’s changing glaciers.

Egyptian Theatre’s Fall Film Series highlights the work of Tim Burton, an American film director, producer, artist, writer and animator. Burton is known for his dark, gothic, eccentric and quirky fantasy films. “Sweeney Todd” fits the bill. The film re-tells the Victorian melodramatic tale of Sweeney Todd, an English barber and serial killer who murders his customers with a straight razor and, with the help of his accomplice, Mrs. Lovett, processes their corpses into meat pies.
