The Sycamore Vets Club is partnering with Heartland Blood Centers to host a blood drive. Everyone who donates will receive a $10 Target gift card. Donors have to be at least 16 years old and weigh a minimum of 110 pounds. An Immigrant’s Song, the Celtic Influx

This program, performed by Barry Cloyd, begins in the ancient days of the Celtic people and follows their migration across Europe to what eventually became their home in Ireland. The connection is also made to Midwest Irish families, who fled the Great Hunger of the 1840s and ‘50s to escape oppression and seek their freedom in “Amerikay.” No registration is required. The 46th annual car show is being presented by the Sliver Springs Chapter of the Illinois Region AACA. Admission is $15 for show cars and $20 for the Car Corral (cars for sale). Ellwood Explorers – Lunch at the Little House

Spend the afternoon at everyone’s favorite playhouse, the 1891 Little House. Learn about nineteenth-century games and try out reproduction toys. Bring a picnic lunch to enjoy on the grounds of Ellwood Park. Ellwood Explorers is a series of youth educational programs. Children should be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
