Celebrate the new year at the New Year’s Eve Party with a Purpose, Faranda’s, 302 Grove St., DeKalb, 7 p.m. Dec. 31. Tickets are $100. Proceeds will go to Adventure Works, a local non-profit that provides counseling to area youth through adventure therapy.

Animal Tales

Free with admission; $8 adults, and $5 for senior citizens and children up to 12  

Interactive story and lap-time for caregivers and babies. Each week, an interactive sensory experience will accompany the nature based story. This program is a great place to meet new friends; it consists of 10 minutes of story and activities, and 10 minutes of social time for adults. The program is for children up to the age of 2. Friday Wine Down

Little Learners

This morning story time program is geared toward children, ages 2-5, and their caregivers. Music, finger plays, puppets and books are woven into the weekly theme. The program lasts approximately 30 minutes and is followed by a craft. This week’s theme will be snow. Snow Measuring Stick Craft
