Summer Concert Series

Rock band Party Doctors will cover ‘80s hair metal and party tunes of all decades, including the music of Bon Jovi, Van Halen, Rick Springfield and more. The Sycamore Park District encourages the public to bring a picnic or purchase food, beer and wine from the Caddy Shack Grill on site. If you want to move and dancing isn’t your thing, you may enjoy the volleyball courts, horseshoe pits, outdoor table tennis, fishing and walking path. Call (815) 895-3202 with questions.

Sycamore/Rochelle Performing Arts Academy performance

A flowing breeze, falling rain, dancing flames and soft sand are just a few of the experiences you will share at the Performing Arts Academy’s spring dance concert Dancers from the Sycamore/Rochelle Performing Arts Academy will bring the wonders of our world to the stage with “Elements In Motion,” a production based on the four elements of nature: earth, air, fire and water. Students will perform a mix of ballet, jazz, tap and contemporary dance and aerial arts.

Sycamore will host this year’s city-wide estate, yard and sidewalk sales at as many as 100 sites around town.

Armed Forces Run

Begins at Sandwich VFW, 713 S. Main St., Sandwich

8:30 a.m. registration; 10 a.m. starting time

Donations are $15 a bike and $10 a passenger

The American Legion Riders Post 181 from Sandwich is sponsoring an Armed Forces Run to raise donations for local veterans and their families. The run begins at Sandwich VFW, 713 S. Main St., and ends at the Wilderness Restaurant on north 48th Road near Sandwich with stops in DeKalb, Rochelle, Tin Roof in Leland and Mendota. “My Fair Lady”

This classic musical is based on the play “Pygmalion,” written by George Bernard Shaw. Music by Frederick Loewe and book and lyrics by Alan Jay Lerner. “My Fair Lady,” the story about the grooming and transformation of a Cockney girl into a polished lady, opened on Broadway in 1956.

Grassroots Outdoor Community Market

A diverse mix of local farmers, artisans, artists and crafters will sell their goods, including locally grown produce, meats, eggs, honey, baked goods, oils, soaps, hand-sewn goods and handmade wood and glass goods. Food is a selection of organic, gluten-free, vegan and natural goods. Demonstrations and entertainment will also be part of the market.
