DeKalb Rotary’s Hike and Bike for the Trail will be held from 9-11 a.m. Sept. 3. Hikers will meet at the Sycamore Road end of the nature trail and bicyclists will meet at the shelter in Hopkins Park, 1403 Sycamore Road, DeKalb.

DeKalb County Small Business Resource Fair

The DeKalb County Small Business Resource Network is hosting a resource fair for small businesses or those interested in starting a small business in DeKalb County. The fair will include business incubator tours and sessions on financing a new business, working with contractors and dealing with competition. Huskie Food Pantry

Jonamac Orchard Opening Weekend

Guided Walking Tour of DeKalb Avenue
1-2 p.m.
DeKalb County Community Foundation, 475 DeKalb Ave., Sycamore

Walkers will meet at the foundation’s office and then explore as far as the Salem Lutheran Church. A tour guide will share interesting stories connected to the people who made this picturesque street one of the most sought-out locations in Sycamore. For more information, call 815-895-5762.

DeKalb Rotary’s Hike and Bike for the Trail

Two locations: Hikers will meet at the Sycamore Road end of the nature trail and bicyclists will meet at the shelter in Hopkins Park, 1403 Sycamore Road, DeKalb.
$10 adults, free for children 12 and younger

The bike ride will follow a family-friendly, 4-mile route. The walk will be family-friendly also. The event will help the DeKalb Rotary Club raise funds for the restoration of the DeKalb Nature Trail.

Free Fitness Week

Sycamore Farmers Market

On the corner of Sacramento and State streets in downtown Sycamore

Locally grown, freshly picked produce will be for sale. The market also has specialty goods like freshly baked breads and confections, organic herbs, beautiful fresh-cut and potted flowers, annual and perennial flowers, olive oils, fresh homemade sauces, local honey and jams. Handcrafted products from area artists will be sold. The public can enjoy live music while shopping.

Sept. 5

Adult Afternoon Meetup
1-3 p.m.
Sycamore Public Library, 103 E. State St., Sycamore

This will be the library’s first Adult Afternoon Meetup. This program will be held on the first Wednesday of each month. Participants can pop in any time and enjoy a variety of activities. All adults welcomed, No registration required.
