More than 100 talented crafters and vendors will display their items for holiday shopping at this 30th annual Wonderful World of Christmas Craft & Vendor Show from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Nov. 11 at Genoa-Kingston High School. 980 Park Ave., Genoa.

Taste: Bottles and Brews

Kishwaukee United Way will host its annual fundraising event. Attendees will have the opportunity to sample wine and microbrew beer while enjoying appetizers, desserts and live music. A large silent auction will be held featuring a variety of items for all ages and highlighting local donors. Sample gift baskets include Pampered Chef items, tastings, spa baskets, kids’ items, restaurant certificates, sports item and more. To make a reservation, call Kishwaukee United Way at 815-756-7522.

The annual Holiday Open House has been extended to a weekend long celebration with s’mores, open fire and hot chocolate. Exclusive holiday items, including freshly picked Sycamore Leaf ornaments in a variety of new smaller sizes, fresh greens, gifts, décor and more will be available for sale. Cocktails will be served.

Northern Rehab Coat Drive

Northern Rehab Physical Therapy Specialists is collecting donations for the Sycamore United Methodist Church Coat Ministry. Needed items include new and gently used coats, boots, mittens, scarves, and other winter accessories. All Northern Rehab locations are serving as collection sites with clinics in DeKalb, Genoa, Rochelle and Sandwich. Please drop off donated items through Nov. 16. Fire Preservation Company Pancake Breakfast

The Sycamore Fire Preservation Company will host a pancake breakfast and open house to raise money to go toward finding a permanent display location for the group’s 1923 Stutz fire engine. Prairie Park Work Day

The DeKalb Park District is hosting a Community Day at Prairie Park. Participants will meet at Disc Golf Course, at the corner of Glidden and Clifford, and tackle removal of invasive woody plants. Participants are encouraged to wear boots, gloves and weather appropriate clothes, and bring loppers if possible to assist in removal.

This fun event is for people 21 and older. Doors will open at 6:15 p.m. Dinner and dancing will be held until 10:30 a.m. Line dancing will be taught at 7:30 p.m. Admission includes two drinks (beer or wine), dance instruction and dinner: homemade pulled pork, baked beans, potato salad, desserts and iced tea. Wonderful World of Christmas Craft & Vendor Show

More than 100 talented crafters and vendors will display their items for holiday shopping at this 30th annual event. Both new and returning crafters and vendors are from more than 20 towns. Items for sale include American Girl doll clothes, hand-painted wood signs, vinyl signs and ornaments, knit and crochet items, children’s books, dog treats, purses, candles and food. There will be bake sales and a food court and more than 300 grab bag gifts. Santa will arrive at 11:30 a.m. and will hear special wishes stay until 1 p.m.
