Relay for Life of DeKalb County Walk

12 p.m.-12 a.m.

Sycamore High School, 555 Spartan Trail, Sycamore

Free admission, but participants raise funds for cancer research

Walk the “Re-Lei for a Cure” which benefits the American Cancer Society. The Barn at Pearcy Farm is the site for a fundraiser to support Adventure Works. There will be food, live music and raffles. Dinner will be grilled onsite by 5 B’s Catering. Proceeds support the mission to assist youth in overcoming challenges and becoming healthy adults through adventure-based counseling. Call (815) 787-8990 for more information.

Bike MS: Tour de Farms

7 a.m.-6 p.m. each day

Start/Finish Location: Northern Illinois University Convocation Center, 1525 W. Lincoln Hwy., DeKalb

Registration Fee: $80

Bike MS: Tour de Farms is a 2-day fundraising cycling event. There are multiple route options, all of which are supported with rest stops, lunch stop and safety personnel. The ride begins Saturday morning. Riders will travel through local farmland and end back at NIU. Day 2 begins with a hearty breakfast before heading out and back. Antique Engine and Tractor Show

The Sandwich Early Day Engine Club will hold its 45th annual Antique Engine and Tractor Show. The show features Allis-Chalmers tractors and Sandwich gas engines and equipment and events for all ages. Some of those events are kids’ pedal pull, flea market, arts and crafts displays, toy show/sale, antique tractors and trucks, equipment demonstrations and tractor rides. First Congregational of DeKalb is hosting its 2nd annual Charity Auction. All proceeds will go to local community groups: Hope Haven, Safe Passage and Healthy Family Illinois. National HIV Testing Day

9 a.m.-4 p.m.

In observance of National HIV Testing Day, Open Door Health Center will offer free HIV testing. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommends people between the ages of 13-64 and pregnant women should be tested for HIV at least once and more often if they are at high risk for infection. No appointment is necessary at the center.

Teens Can Cook: Let’s Make Pasta!

Teenagers, 13-17, are invited to join Rachel Koroscik, healthy culinary coordinator to learn how to create simple sauces and mix, roll and enjoy homemade pasta. Come ready to cook with hair pulled back, wearing closed-toe shoes. Day 1: Simple Sauces. Day 2: Make homemade pasta and eat the pasta meal!
