Physicals and immunizations will be given. Call (815) 748-2460 to make an appointment. Health department staff will try to accommodate walk-ins. Medical card (Meridian, Harmony, &Illinois Health Connect) and most private Insurances accepted Onsite dental services will be available.

Green Living Festival

Free

Activities will include hands-on workshops concerning gardening, healthy food preparation, zero waste, green cleaning and saving energy. Parents and children are welcome to join four 20-minute workshops in each of these areas.

Evil Threatens. The World Needs Saving. TIME TO STEP UP! Adventure @ Your Library is DeKalb Public Library’s own tabletop role-playing group for teens. Take part in a role-playing game of teamwork and storytelling where your decisions control the course of the adventure and mean the difference between defeat and victory. Genoa’s Farmers Market is a community hub. The Naturally Genoa Farmer’s Market is designed to support local farmers, local agriculture and the environment by reducing the use of fossil fuels.

Guided Walking Tour: Somonauk Street

Somonauk Street has always been pretty as a postcard. Join Steven Bigolin as he leads this guided walking tour of Sycamore’s History District. Bigolin will lead a tour highlighting the architecture and local history connected to the homes along Somonauk Street. The tour will go to the 900 block and back and last about an hour and a half. Learn why Somonauk Street was known as Swell Head Row.

Tuesdays on the Town ‘Family Fun & Fitness’

Downtown Sycamore

The focus is on family fun and fitness for the next Tuesday on the Town presented by KishHealth System, a part of Northwestern Medicine. The event will have entertainment for the entire family including kids’ games, inflatable attractions, face painting, DJ and a sing-a-long. The downtown businesses will stay open late and feature special offers.

General Book Club

The General Book Club will meet to discuss a work of fiction, “The Cloud Atlas” by Liam Callanan and published in 2004. Set against the magnificent backdrop of Alaska in the waning days of World War II, “The Cloud Atlas” is an enthralling novel, a story of adventure and awakening — and of a young soldier who came to Alaska on an extraordinary, top-secret mission and found a world that would haunt him forever.
