Jelly Fish and Starfish Dissection

$10 for museum members; $15 for others

The museum offers another of its award-winning dissection classes. Children and adults are invited to learn the biology of starfish and jelly fish by dissenting them. Class costs $10 for museum members and $15 for non-members.

Regional antique dealers will sell garden, architectural and countrypolitan antiques including folk-art, vintage iron, and accessories – all housed inside Blumen Gardens’ 19th century brick Garden Room. New for 2016: gourmet food trucks will be onsite serving breakfast and lunch during both days of the antique show. Please bring a non-perishable food item to donate to local food banks. Arduinos – Advanced Class

Find out what the maker movement is all about as you learn how to create responsive electronic projects using Arduino microcontrollers. An Arduino is a small computer that can be used to read sensors and control lights, motors and more. Arduinos are at the heart of the Maker Movement and are an easy and fun way to add automation and interaction to your projects. In the afternoon sessions, we’ll delve into some more complex programming concepts such as using loops, functions, and variables. Students attending this class should already have some experience programming Arduinos, either from a previous class or personal experience. So if you’ve been wondering what all the hype is about, here’s your chance to find out. All students will get to keep the Arduino Uno board they use in class. This is a two-part class. Some of the topics to be cover include: evaluating the true cost of retirement, evaluating your sources and timing of retirement income, protecting your health and wealth, minimizing taxes during retirement, maximizing your pension benefits and Social Security and planning for death and/or disability.
