Professional Vocalist Cindy Halgrimson will perform with the band. Attendees should bring a lawn chair or blanket; bench seating is limited. The concert will be broadcasted on NCTV17, public television.

Movie in the Park: “Sing”

Bring the family and a blanket or chairs, kick back and enjoy a movie under the stars. The plot: In a city of humanoid animals, a hustling theater impresario’s attempt to save his theater with a singing competition becomes grander than he anticipates even as its finalists’ find that their lives will never be the same.

The 31st annual event will feature an extravaganza of activities and attractions – from the Caber Toss to Highland Dancing to the Dogs of Scotland. This family-friendly event is a chance to explore Scottish culture. All proceeds benefit the Society, the oldest not-for-profit in Illinois. Family Camp Out

5 p.m. June 16 check-in

Fischer Farm, 16W680 Grand Ave., Bensenville

$6 per person; free for children, 3 and under

Plan to enjoy campfire stories, a scavenger hunt and games at Fischer Farm. Campfire roasted hot dogs, chips and a beverage for dinner, s’mores and a continental breakfast will be provided. Campers need to bring tent, sleeping gear, lawn chairs, bug spray, flashlight, games, toys, additional snacks/beverages, and personal items. Electricity is not available for tents, but it is on the grounds. Children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. For more information, call (630) 766-7015.

The park’s first Family Night of the summer features a Cruise Night theme and live music by Joe Kalish and Final Say on June 16. Stay for Movie in the Park (“Rogue One: A Star Wars Story”). Star Wars characters from the 501st Legion will be on site for photo opportunities. Parking fee is $5. Art in Bloom Cantigny Fine Art Festival on June 17 and June 18, will feature more than 80 juried artists in a variety of media. Cantigny favorites Classical Blast and Guitarra Azul will perform. The public is invited to picnic, enjoy the food trucks or enjoy sit-down dining at Le Jardin. Art activities will be provided for kids. Parking is $10. For more information, call (630) 668-5161. Juneteenth Community Festival

Juneteenth, is a national holiday commemorating abolishment of slavery in the U.S., starting in Texas June 19, 1865. Bolingbrook’s event displays a commitment to multiculturalism and provides an outlet to learn about American history, reflect on progression and serve as a reminder to remain committed to social harmony.
