The Piano Men: A Tribute to Elton John and Billy Joel

Prairie Star Quilters Guild is hosting its 2016 quilt show. The show’s featured quilt is called Friendship Chain. It is made of triple four patch blocks and will be raffled off. Raffle tickets will be sold at the quilt show. For more information, call (630) 668-6636.

 

 

Oct. 14 and Oct. 15 

Oak Brook Haunted Forest 

6:30-9:30 p.m. 

Central Park, 1450 Forest Gate Road, Oak Brook 

$1 for one ticket; $20 for 25 tickets 

Oak Brook Park District will transform the pathways of Central Park and lead thousands of innocent spectators through haunted corners of Oak Brook. Parental discretion is advised for thrill seekers under 10 because music, light, fog, strobe lights and creepy characters will be in close proximity in the maze. For those looking for a lighter dose of Halloween hijinks, Haunted Forest also features a pumpkin patch, face painting, fireside storytelling, candy in the haystack, a craft corner and tractor-pulled hayrides. Each activity will cost a different number of tickets. The event will be held rain or shine. A Special Maze Preview Night will be held from 4-6 p.m. Oct. 13. Admission is $5 for unlimited maze walks.

Experience two of the darkest nights of the year with haunting creatures, eerie entertainment and must-see horrors. This one-of-a-kind experience brings some of the scariest characters of the past, present and future to life. Not recommended for children younger than 8 years old.
