The 2017 DuPage Environmental Summit will focus on what can be done on home and business landscapes to save water and energy and create healthy and healing. Summit participants will learn about the regional Chicagoland forest canopy and the challenges of managing urban forests and the environmental benefits tress provide. Participants will also learn how trees and natural setting provide healing environments in healthcare and senior living settings. Not-for-profit organizations and businesses working in areas related to this topic will be in the exhibit area starting at 7:30 a.m., when doors open and registration begins.

Mon Ami Gabi in Oak Brook chefs will teach a class on classic French dishes. Chefs will show how to prepare caramelized fennel, arugula and grapefruit salad, lobster macaroni au gratin and ile flottante with Grand Marnier anglaise, candied almonds and caramel for dessert. Browse a selection of seeds and take home a variety to plant this spring. Bring your leftover seed packets or saved seeds to share. The Morton Arboretum will provide supplies such as envelopes, labels and pens. Edible and ornamental seeds welcome. Bring open seed packets from the garden store. Bring seeds that are viable – in other words, not too old. Make sure seeds are labeled with crop type, variety name and the date they were packaged/harvested. Experts will answer gardening questions.
