Movie screening to raise money for art league project

A special movie screening will be held as a fundraiser for the Naperville Art League’s classroom renovation project.

“Peggy Guggenheim: Art Addict” will be shown at 7:30 p.m. Aug. 29 at the Ogden 6 Theatre, 1227 E. Ogden Ave. Admission $10 per person; $8 for Naperville Art League members; and $6 for After Hours Film Society members. Tickets are available at the movie theater box office.

“Peggy Guggenheim: Art Addict” is a documentary that portrays a patron of the arts extraordinaire who transformed a modest fortune into one of the premiere collections of 20th Century modern art. While fighting through personal tragedy, she maintained her vision to build one of the most important collections of modern art, now enshrined in her Venetian palazzo.

The Naperville Art League offers hands-on art classes throughout the year for adults and children. It is a not-for-profit, volunteer organization sponsored by membership dedicated to promoting and supporting the visual arts and encouraging artists in the community.
