Suzuki Strings Christmas Concert

The Community School of the Arts at Wheaton College Suzuki String students will present Bluegrass and Beyond, a Christmas concert celebrating the birth of Christ with musical traditions from around the world. More than 300 students, ages 4 through high school will perform versions of familiar Christmas favorites; a bluegrass version of “Go Tell It on the Mountain,” a klezmer version of “We Wish You a Merry Christmas” and Pentatonix’s “Mary Did You Know.” Audience participation will be encouraged.

Breakfast with Santa

Enjoy a special breakfast buffet in The Morton Arboretum’s Ginkgo Restaurant and a visit from Santa. Children can talk with Santa and his helpers and leave with some sweet treats to take home. Breakfasts will be held on weekends in December and Dec. 21-Dec. 22.

The School of Performing Arts will present “Winter Wonderland,” an adaptation of A&A Ballet’s world-premiere production of Alexei Kremnev’s “Nutcracker.” The 45-minute production, filled with excerpts from Kremnev’s rendition of the holiday classic, can introduce young audiences to classical ballet and a tradition of the season. After the performance, audience members may take photos with the Sugar Plum Fairy and participate in an arts and crafts station where children can make their own keepsake picture frame.
