Explore a traveling exhibition from Newseum/AARP featuring 19 large-format portraits of some of the most fascinating members of the influential baby boomer generation, taken by award-winning American photographer Timothy Greenfield-Sanders. Gain insight into the generation born from 1946 to 1964 through interviews and portraits that focus on exceptional achievements, struggles and identities, telling the story of extraordinary Americans and the history they lived through – and often created.

Music at the Museum

Elmhurst College Jazz musicians will perform jazz songs from the 1940s and ‘50s, inspired by the exhibition of work by Gertrude Abercrombie. Abercrombie regularly hosted jam sessions with musician friends such as Dizzy Gillespie and Sonny Rollins. Two complimentary glasses of wine will be included with admission for those 21 and older.

Middle Eastern Dance Recital and Concert

See Siberian husky sled pulling, skijoring and speed demonstrations. Visit with the dogs and sled team, inspect the equipment and have photos taken with the rig during this yearly event. Attendees are asked to leave their pets at home.

The public may bring current copies of electric, gas, and phone bills to become an expert on understanding your bills, avoiding scams, practicing energy efficiency and boosting home comfort. Marley Dias Book Presentation and Signing

Impressive 13-year-old Marley Dias visits will talk about her book, “Marley Dias Gets It Done and So Can You!” This young author aims for positive changes in the world and to inspire young people through volunteering, activism, social justice, inclusion and reaching out via social media.
