Opening March 23, the Snoopy and the Red Baron traveling exhibit from the Charles M. Schulz Museum and Research Center in Santa Rosa, Calif., tells the story of the charismatic and beloved character from its early origins to Schulz’s detailed WWI research.

In honor of spring and St. Patrick’s Day, area artist Peter Hagerty brings his latest portrait exhibit, “Faith & Meaning: Chicago’s Irish Heritage,” to the Westmont Public Library. The show examines the Irish spirit in Chicago. In his work, Hagerty touches on some important areas that help define what it means to be Chicago-Irish.

Salary Negotiation Workshop for Women

In this AAUW Work Smart workshop, participants will gain confidence in negotiation style through facilitated discussion and role-play. The workshop will teach how to identify and articulate personal value; how to develop an arsenal of persuasive responses and other negotiation strategies; how to conduct an objective market research to benchmark a target salary and benefits; and learn about the wage gap and its long-term consequences. How Corn Changed Itself

The Culinary Historians of Northern Illinois will welcome Cynthia Clampitt for a presentation about the importance of corn. About 10,000 years ago, a weedy grass growing in Mexico with a strange trait known as a “jumping gene” transformed itself into a larger, more useful grass—the cereal grass that we would come to know as maize and then corn. Flashlight Egg Hunt

Bring your flashlight and basket and go on a scavenger hunt, participate in an egg hunt and enjoy s’mores by the bonfire. The Easter Bunny will pose for pictures, so bring your camera. Registration is not required. For more information, call 630-766-7015.

Eggsteme Teen Nite

Tweens and Teens, ages 10-15, are invited to participate in an “eggcellent” Easter egg hunt. Hundreds of eggs will be hidden throughout the park, and inside each egg there will be candy or a coupon. Participants should bring flashlights. If there is inclement weather, the hunt will be moved indoors.

Opening March 23, this new traveling exhibit from the Charles M. Schulz Museum and Research Center in Santa Rosa, Calif., tells the story of the charismatic and beloved character from its early origins to Schulz’s detailed WWI research. Learn about this favorite Peanuts storyline through high resolution reproductions of Schulz’s original comic strip artwork, World War I artifacts, photographs, film clips and themed objects inspired by Snoopy as the Flying Ace—from toys and model airplanes to dolls, books and more. Visitors can don aviator caps and goggles for a photo-op next to Snoopy’s doghouse.

Easter Egg Hunt and Pancake Breakfast

This year enjoy not only the Easter Egg Hunt, but also breakfast with the Easter Bunny. The Addison Park District, in conjunction with the Addison Kiwanis Club, is holding the event. The breakfast is all-you-can eat pancakes, sausage, milk, orange juice and coffee. Donations to the Addison Kiwanis Club accepted at the door. Pictures with the Easter Bunny are available between 8:30 -10 a.m. The Easter Egg Hunt is free to all participants 10 and younger, and will begin promptly at 10:30 a.m. For more information, call 630-233-7275.
