26th annual Summer Nights Classic Car Show

All classic cars are welcome on Main from Maple to Franklin. Cars featured on Curtiss must be 25 years (1993) and older. A trophy will be awarded weekly.

This event, sponsored by the Westmont Lions Club, will offer three says of free live music, some of the best barbeque vendors in the Midwest, a beer tent with craft beers and Miller products and carnival rides. More than 25,000 barbeque fans are expected to attend. There will be two professional barbeque competitions, an amateur barbeque competition, demonstrations, and commercial and craft vendors, raffles and more. A special $20 an all-you-can-ride wristband pass will be sold from noon-4 p.m. both days of the event.

Researching Colonial American Ancestors

This program explores ancestors living in the original 13 colonies before the Revolutionary War. Each colonist came to the “new world” for different reasons, such as religious and economic opportunities, and each colony was different. Find out what records are available and where they are located to learn about colonial American ancestors. In addition, information about patriot heritage societies will be shared after the program. This guided, narrated downtown Naperville tour visits six food tasting locations in the historic downtown and train station area. All food tastings, enough for lunch, are included in the ticket price. Beside the food tastings a guide will dish up a side order of fun facts about Naperville’s history and point out architectural buildings and works of art, sculpture and murals. Battle of Cantigny 100th Anniversary

Cantigny Park will hold a day of commemoration in honor of the centennial anniversary of the Battle of Cantigny. The first offensive major battle American forces fought in World War I, The Battle of Cantigny, had a significant impact on the life of Col. Robert R. McCormick. After arriving home from his service, Col. McCormick, renamed his family estate Cantigny after the battle.To celebrate this historic anniversary, the First Division Museum will be offering moments of reflection with a memorial ceremony and poppy display, as well as family friendly activities. Summer Concert Series

Live music will be performed on Tuesday evenings at the Veterans Memorial Pavilion in Fishel Park. Food, wine and beer sales start at 6 p.m. Visitors may bring lawn chairs and blankets, food, non-alcoholic beverages and leashed dogs. No outside alcoholic beverages will be allowed. The Hat Guys, a band that plays pop and rock, will kick off the season.
