Rock ‘N Wheels

6-10 p.m. 

Village Green, 1 Friendship Plaza, Addison 

Free 

Features food, music and Bike & Car Cruise Night. Also included is a Historical Museum open house and craft fair, 6-8 p.m. Entertainment will be a performance by Kashmir, a Led Zeppelin tribute band, that works to recreate the experience of an authentic ’70s Zeppelin show using vintage stage gear, costumes and special effects.

 

Aug. 18 

“One Man, Two Guvnors” 

7 p.m. 

McAninch Arts Center, 425 Fawell Blvd., Glen Ellyn 

$20 

This movie is part of an effort to bring world-class theater to movie theaters. Featuring a Tony Award-winning performance from host of the The Late Late Show, James Corden, the uproarious “One Man, Two Guvnors,” was a runaway hit both in London’s West End and on Broadway. Call (630) 942-4000.

Children’s Trolley Ride 

10 a.m. 

Riverwalk Trolley Stop, Jackson Avenue at Eagle Street, Naperville 

$7 

This trolley ride offers light history and a fun ride. This 30-minute ride is offered every Friday through August. No strollers. Walk-ons welcome, space permitting. $7 per person, all ages. Everyone needs a ticket. Trolley is enclosed, and will run rain or shine. No refunds. Please be at the Trolley Stop by 9:50 a.m.

Willowbrook High’s Silver and Blue Community Night 

5 -9 p.m.

Bowl for a Goal

Bowl for a Goal is one in a series of yearlong on- and off-campus events celebrating the college’s 50th anniversary, Fifty percent of all proceeds will fund student scholarships through the COD Foundation. The public is invited to bowl three games for $20, which includes shoe fees.

Naper Nights Community Concert Series

Bring a blanket or lawn chair for this opportunity to enjoy music under the stars on the beautiful grounds of Naper Settlement. No outside food or beverages are allowed. Aug. 19 is ’80s night, so tease your hair, wear a mullet and put on your leg warmers to dance and sing to the music of 16 Candles, a band that plays all the great ’80s songs. Opening act is Fletcher Rockwell who will play originals and covers. Aug. 20 features Who’s Who, a Who tribute band, and Kashmir, Led Zeppelin tribute band.

Park Palooza

Elmhurst will host its 4th annual Park Palooza with more music, food and fun than in previous years.

Bring your lawn chairs, blankets and friends and enjoy the night. Food vendors will include Barbeque Jim’s, Big World’s Tortas, Cupcakes for Courage, Da Pizza Dude, Happy Lobster Truck, Kona Ice, Mario’s Cart, Toasty Cheese and Yum Dum. Performers include New Odyssey at 5:30 p.m. and No Alternative at from 8 p.m.
