90th Anniversary Luncheon of Lombard Garden Club

The Lombard Garden Club members and guests will gather at for a special 90th anniversary luncheon.  The program for the afternoon is Mike Nowak, host of “The Mike Nowak Show,” which is broadcast every day at 1 p.m. on GDGDRadio.com and available as a podcast. For a decade, he was the host of WGN Radio’s “Let’s Talk Gardening.” in 2012 and 2013, he and Jennifer Brennan from Chalet Nursery in Wilmette hosted 18 TV gardening and cooking programs called “Dig in Chicago.” He has also appeared on WGN-TV Channel 9, CBS 2 Chicago and the DIY Network.  From April of 2009 until December 2015, “The Mike Nowak Show” was broadcast on WCPT Radio. Celebrate Earth Day at Cosley Zoo’s Party for the Planet. Aurora based singer-songwriter Dave Orleans will perform what he calls “earthsinging” emphasizing environmental themes as he plays guitar, banjo ukulele, and recycled instruments. Marian McNair, MATC, MFA will demonstrate the healing power of crystal bowl vibration. Doctors have recognized sound therapy as a beneficial factor in overall wellness and relaxation. Naper Settlement Takes Flight

Soar into the 1940s. Guests will depart from the Meeting House and travel the 12-acre site to five destinations featuring flights of food and adult beverages. First-class entertainment will include big band music, signature cocktails and a live auction. Guests are encouraged to dress comfortably, but also for the era.
