Aurora man fatally shot after leaving child’s birthday party

SUB 091416 aurora shooting COLORA 31-year-old Aurora man died from a gunshot wound shortly after attending a child’s party on Sunday night.

Aurora Police said Andres Ochoa was struck by gunfire and found unconscious and unresponsive on the 600 block of High St. at around 10:30 p.m. Ochoa was reported to have been at a child’s birthday party moments before the shooting.

Police said there were reports of a disturbance in the area of the party prior to the shooting and interviewed two subjects who had suffered non-lethan, non-shooting related injuries. The injured subjects were “less than fully cooperative with investigating officers,” Aurora Police said in a statement.

The investigation is on-going as officers continue to search for witnesses and evidence.
