Residents living right along the Fox River can look into their back yards and see the river waters rising as heavy rains have saturated Kendall and Kane counties in particular over these early weeks of summer.

And with more days of heavy rains still coming this week, flood concerns are still a priority for the Kendall County Emergency Management Agency.

The EMA and the Kendall County Highway Department are making sand and sandbags available for residents or businesses to use for flood control, according to the county. They can be picked up at no cost at the Highway Department, 6780 Route 47 in Yorkville.

For any questions on the sandbags or flooding issues, contact the EMA at (630) 553-4500, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Public works crews for communities in Kendall were out clearing debris from storm drains to keep too many streets from flooding.
