A Montgomery resident, who is charged with attempting to kill her three children, tried to escape from a Kendall County courtroom on the morning of Jan. 26.

Pamela J. Christensen,  48, allegedly was able to slip her wrists out of her restraints and started to run toward the courtroom exit where court security deputies immediately restrained her, according to a release from the Kendall County Sheriff’s Office.

Christensen attempted to resist the efforts of the deputies, but she was escorted to

a secure holding area in the courthouse, according to the release.

She was restrained by deputies before making any contact with other occupants in the courtroom.  The incident did not pose any danger to visitors to the courthouse, according to the Sheriff’s Office.

Christensen was arrested in 2014 after allegedly confessing to police she tried to kill her three daughters, ages 12, 16 and 19 at the time. Two of the girls suffered minor stab wounds and Christensen had also stabbed herself in the chest and abdomen. Police found them at their home in responding to 911 calls made from the residence.

The girls told police at the time of her arrest Christensen had dressed them all in white and had held a knife to them, asking them if they accepted Jesus Christ as their savior.

Christensen was in court Jan. 26 for a matter unrelated to the murder charges when she allegedly attempted her escape.

The Kendall County State’s Attorney’s Office charged Christensen with attempted escape, a Class 3 Felony and resisting a peace officer, a Class A  Misdemeanor. Christensen remains in custody at the Kendall County Jail, according to the Sheriff’s  Office.
