Cookbook Book Club

Each person attending will make something at home that goes along with a theme. Bring in enough to share with 12 people. At each class we will sample what everyone has made, and we’ll make one item as a group. Prior to the class, email kkatzen@oswego.lib.il.us the recipe you plan to make.

Knit and Crochet Group

This informal group works on their own projects, discusses types and colors of yarns, and helps each other with new or tricky patterns.  They love to watch each other’s projects develop.  Participants bring their own supplies. 

POP: Preschool Open Play Gymnastics

Open play gives preschoolers time to explore, swing, jump and burn off some energy. Staff will be on-hand to ensure safety and proper usage of equipment. An adult must always accompany the child. Ages 6 & under.

Classic Movie Night: ‘Casablanca’

Easter Make & Take Activity

Get ready for your Easter celebration by making a special paper bonnet and creating other decorations that will add color to any celebration. You will also visit the museum’s temporary ‘Easter Bonnets on Parade’ display. Stop by anytime between 12:30 to 3:30 p.m.to participate. Age: 3 and up.

The Degenerate Art Exhibit and the Rescued Artists of World War II

In the 1930s, the Nazi party waged a campaign to erase modern art from history. At the onset of World War II, artists, poets, intellectuals and other enemies of the Third Reich found themselves in mortal danger. American Varian Fry rescued many individuals from Nazi-occupied France earning himself the contemporary moniker — The Oscar Schindler of artists. This program is presented by art historian Jeff Mishur, owner of Art Excursions.

Grades 6-12. Learn to design items on Tinkercad and have them printed on our 3D printer. Teens who attend the program can print one item per month for free; must be an original design.
