Aurora man charged with residential burglary

On Aug. 7, at approximately 11 a.m., Kendall County Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to the 100 Block of Boulder Hill Pass, Unincorporated Montgomery, for a report of a residential burglary that had just occurred. The victim reported being home with her child while a subject entered her residence, and stole a wallet containing U.S Currency and credit cards. The victim and child were unaware that the individual had entered the residence. Deputies learned that the victim’s credit card was used numerous times in the Aurora area shortly after the incident had been reported.

Kendall County Sheriff’s Detectives began an investigation into the matter. Due to information received from witnesses in the area, Charles Brackenridge, a 33-year-old man from Aurora was identified as a suspect.

Kendall County Sheriff’s Detectives responded to Aurora to begin the investigation into where the credit card had been used, and located Brackenridge during the investigation. Brackenridge was taken into custody without incident, approximately five hours after Deputies were initially contacted. The stolen credit card and wallet were both recovered during the investigation.

The Kendall County State’s Attorney’s Office subsequently charged Brackenridge with residential burglary, a Class 1 felony. Brackenridge is in custody at the Kendall County Corrections Center awaiting a court appearance to have a bond set.
