Senior Services Head To Kane County Cougars

The Senior Services Associates is heading to the Kane County Cougars on Monday, July 9 for a noon game. The tickets are for the super suite that is located directly behind and above home plate. The suite is air conditioned and we will have access to sit outside.

The cost of the ticket is $38 and includes the bus ride to the game, the game and an all you can eat lunch.

For those who want to drive yourself,  the cost will be $30 and includes the game and an all- you-can-eat lunch.

Leland man faces multiple sexual assault charges

On Jan. 4, Kendall County Sheriff’s Deputies took a report for an aggravated criminal sexual assault that was alleged to have occurred in the 70 Block of Highview Drive, Yorkville.

The victim told police that she was held against her will, and sexually assaulted by her boyfriend.

Kendall County Detectives began an investigation, and on June 6, the Kendall County State’s Attorney’s Office charged Jeffrey Heth, a 35-year-old man from the 2000 Block of North 45th Road, Leland, with aggravated criminal sexual assault, a Class X felony; 3 counts of criminal sexual assault, class 1 felonies; aggravated domestic battery, a class 2 felony; and unlawful restraint, a class 4 felony. A warrant was issued, with a bond of $150,000, with ten percent to apply

Fox Valley Park District holds Amazing Race

In this four-hour adventure held by the Fox Valley Park District, teams are given a map and sets of clues to try and get from start to finish, completing mental and physical challenges along the way.

Check-in begins at 8:30 a.m. Registration also includes awards ceremony, pizza celebration and a T-shirt if registered by July 23. Early bird registration rate of $84 is now available through July 6. Beginning July 7, the normal rate of $96 will be in effect. Registration ends Aug. 4.

This event takes place throughout the Fox Valley Park District on Saturday, Aug. 11, 9 a.m. and begins at West Aurora High School.  Must be ages 21 and older.

Aurora man arrested for stalking, cyberstalking

On April 3, the Kendall County Sheriff’s Office began an investigation into a Violation of Order of Protection by an inmate utilizing the phone system at the Kendall County Jail.

On April 5, a warrant was issued for 19-year-old Raul Perez of the 200 block of North Fourth Street in Aurora for Violation of an Order of Protection.

He was taken into custody at his residence on April 30 by members of the Kendall County Sheriff’s Office and Aurora Police Department.

During the investigation, additional offenses were discovered. On June 7, an additional warrant was issued in Kendall County for Perez for two counts of Stalking and two counts of Cyberstalking. Perez was taken into custody at the Kendall County Courthouse on June 13 and his bond was set at $100,000, 10 percent to apply

Sunday in the Park concerts are a family outing

The open park area behind Lakewood Creek Elementary School will be the location for a fun community event called Sunday in the Park on June 24 from 4 to 7:30 p.m.

Join friends and neighbors for free ice cream from 4 to 5 p.m., food to purchase from food trucks, games and activities for kids of all ages and a concert from 5 to 7:30 p.m. 

Bring picnic blankets and lawn chairs. 

CK & the Gray will provide energetic and family-friendly musical entertainment.  The Kendall County SWAT vehicle and a big cement truck from Ozinga will also be on display.

Plenty of parking is available at the school and in the surrounding neighborhood.  The stage will be located near Prescott Drive and Jacob Avenue. 

Portalets and hand washing stations will be available.

This event is sponsored by the Montgomery Village Board and the Fox Valley Park District, with free ice cream provided by Engineering Enterprises, Inc.
