Police: Montgomery man stabbed wife, then himself

Police said a Montgomery man stabbed his wife, then turned the knife on himself this weekend, killing them both inside the couple’s home.

According to Montgomery police, the incident began around 9:30 p.m. on Nov. 4 when officers were called the home of Nancy Buhle-Weinstein, 55, and her husband Kurt Jaeger, 48, for a “possible death investigation.”

Montgomery Police Chief Daniel Meyers said officers arrived at the home in the 2000 block of Kate Court and found the bodies of the couple inside.

Police said both Buhle-Weinstein and Jaeger had suffered from multiple stab wounds. They were both pronounced dead at the scene.

Initial reports from police indicated that there was no sign of an intruder and that the public should not feel threatened. Within three days of the crime, police determined the stabbings to be the result of a murder/suicide.

Montgomery police were reportedly assisted at the scene by the Illinois State Police Crime Scene Services.

Autopsies were conducted by the Kendall County Coroner’s Office on Sunday, Nov 6. The cause of death for both Buhle-Weinstein and Jaeger was multiple stab wounds, the office reported.
