A 35-year-old Ohio man has been charged with two counts of aggravated robbery following the robbery of an Oswego Starbucks earlier this summer.

Prosecutors said David Kimble, of Cleveland, was the man behind the wheel of a gray sedan that approached the coffee shop’s drive-thru, 2750 Route 34, at around 5 a.m. on June 20.

According to Oswego police, the suspect demanded money and was handed $200 by employees who said they believed the man was armed.

Surveillance footage showed the suspect fleeing the scene in his vehicle, but the man was never caught.

As they continued their investigation, Oswego detectives were contacted by law enforcement officers in Kearney, Neb. about a man they had in custody, David Kimble. The detectives believed that Kimble might have information about the Oswego Starbucks robbery, police said.

Oswego Police Department spokesperson Cathy Nevara said Oswego Police Department detectives traveled to Nebraska in early August to interview Kimble about his knowledge of the incident. Kimble was in custody at the jail in Buffalo County, Neb. On unrelated charges at the time.

Following the jailhouse interview, Kendall County prosecutors approved two counts of aggravated robbery against Kimble. On Wednesday, Aug. 17 a warrant was issued for Kimble’s arrest and his bail was set at $100,000. He currently remains in custody at the Buffalo County jail, Nevara said.
