An Oswego man has been charged with multiple counts of first-degree murder for allegedly killing two men outside an Aurora bar in 2017.

Seratin Castellanos, 100 block of Eisenhower Lane, was taken into custody on Jan. 30 by the U.S. Marshals Great Lakes Fugitive Task Force. He was arrested without incident after he left his home and got into a vehicle that was pulled over.

He is accused in a March 10 shooting that occurred outside a bar in the 700 block of S. Lincoln Avenue in Aurora.

Castellanos shot and killed Jermaine Taylor, 35, and Anselmo Fernandez, 57, both of Aurora, according to police.

Gunfire from Catellanos’ weapon also injured a 37-year-old man who sustained permanent injury to one of his eyes, police said.

The shooting took place around 12:50 a.m. as the bar was closing. Castellanos shot Taylor multiple times as Taylor entered his vehicle, according to police. After shooting Taylor, Castellanos ran and fired more shots. He struck Fernandez, who was standing in the entry way of the bar, and the 37-year-old victim who was sitting in a vehicle, police said.

All three men were taken to an Aurora hospital where Fernandez and Taylor were pronounced dead, according to police.

Investigators said that although there are theories as to why the shooting occurred, a definite motive has not been established. Police do believe Taylor was targeted by the shooter.

The investigation into the shooting continues and police have not ruled out that additional people may be charged. They credited the public for providing information that helped lead to the charges against Castellanos.
