Oswego’s annual Fall Fox Fest kicked-off with a bang on Sunday morning, as thousands of people descended on Main Street for food, fun, games and fall festivities.

Children ran around wildly, snapping photos with their favorite costumed characters and getting their faces painted by teenage volunteers during the event which lasted from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Vendors peddled their crafts and Halloween-themed trinkets. Food vendors sold crispy empanadas, delicious tacos, corn dogs, funnel cakes and other fair fare to the sound of live music and children’s laughter.

The event, which is in its third year, is the village’s most child-friendly event. Most of the activities — including touch-a-truck, a bounce house, giant slide, face painting and balloon animals — were offered up for free, or at a minimal cost.

In addition, the village’s Country Market was held in a nearby lot at the same time, drawing even larger and diverse crowds who came for fruits and veggies instead of children’s fall fun.
