It wouldn’t be the Fourth of July holiday without fireworks, Here is a roundup of fireworks displays happening throughout Kane, Kendall and western DuPage communities.

Aurora

July 4

Activities from 6 -10 p.m.

Location 1: RiverEdge Park, 360 N. Broadway Ave

Great food along with an amazing view of the fireworks at Aurora’s premier outdoor concert venue featuring the American Legion Band and the Fox Valley Orchestra.

Location 2: McCullough Park – Illinois Avenue and Lake Street.

Local food vendors with taste-tempting treats and free fun for all with inflatables and music that will make you want to get up and dance. Enjoy music by Evolution.

Fireworks start at approximately, 9:35 p.m. and can be viewed from both locations and along the banks of the river.

The city of Aurora is offering free park and ride shuttle service from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. providing round-trip transportation to 13 convenient locations throughout the city. The shuttles will resume service after the fireworks display with the latest departure scheduled for 11 p.m.

Batavia

July 4

Watch fireworks from Engstrom Park, Millview Drive and West Main Street at 9:30 p.m.

Lisle

July 1- 3

Eyes to the Skies Festival held at Lisle Community Park, Short Street.

Fireworks will go off each night around 9:45 p.m. On July 3, there will be a timed musical score to accompany the show.

Naperville

July 4 at 9:30 p.m.

Fireworks at Knoch Park 724 S. West St.

Oswego

July 4 at dusk

Fireworks viewers are encouraged to use the Traughber Junior High School, Eastview Elementary, Prairie Point Elementary and the parking lots of Oswego High School. Handicap parking will be made available in the school district’s Bus Transportation lot on Plank Road. Show is best viewed from PrairieFest Park and Prairie Point Elementary School.

Plainfield

July 3 at 6 p.m.

Plainfield Central High School, 24120 W. Fort Beggs Drive

This free family event is a celebration featuring police, fire and Military Organizations as well as a DJ, dance performance, family games and activities. Fireworks start at dusk.

Sandwich

July 2- 3

Sandwich Fairgrounds and Knights Park, 3401 Suydam Road, Sandwich

July 2: Parade begins at the Fairgrounds at 10 a.m., followed by a BBQ at the Fire Station. Sign up for kids and adult water fights beginning at 1 p.m.

July 3: Day kicks-off at 8 a.m. with the 1-Mile Fun run and 5K Freedom Run at Knights Park. At 6, gates open at the Fairground and cars are welcome to park for the fireworks show. $5/car load. Show starts at 9:20 p.m.

St. Charles

July 4

Fireworks start at dusk and are best viewed from the grounds at either Pottawatomie Park or Ferson Creek Park, the fireworks show is free to the public.

Pottawatomie Park opens at 8 a.m. for family and friends who want to make a day of it. Picnic tables are available on a first-come/first-served basis, so it is strongly suggested that patrons bring their own tables, blankets and lawn chairs. Refreshments from hot dogs and bratwurst to popcorn and ice cream are available at the River View Miniature Golf concession stand, which will remain open until 9:15pm that night.

Wheaton

July 3-4

Independence Day holiday celebration begins July 3 with a community party at Graf Park, Manchester Road and Westwood Drive, near the DuPage County fairgrounds, from 4: 30 to 9 p.m.

There will be food vendors, business expo, carnival rides, DJ, and with fireworks at dusk

Dogs will not be allowed at Graf Park on July 3.

The annual July 4 parade will kick off at 10 a.m. in Downtown Wheaton. The route will follow along Main Street.

Yorkville

July 4

Parade: The parade begins at 9 a.m. Parade route as follows: Game Farm Rd, Somonauk Street, King Street, West Main Street, Church Street and will end at the water tower.

Town Square Activities: The activities begin immediately after the parade, and will include children’s foot races, rides, water fights and a performance by the Yorkville Community Band. Food and drink will be available for purchase.

Fireworks: The fireworks will begin at dusk and will be shot off near the corner of Rt. 47 and Countryside Pkwy. The Yorkville Big Band will also be performing at 8:00pm at the Larson-Nelson Funeral Home.
