Parks & Rec. partners with Lake Forest Baseball Assoc.

The Lake Forest Parks & Recreation Department (LFPRD) and Lake Forest Baseball Association (LFBA) have formed a partnership intended to help build a robust and successful baseball program in the community. The partnership will allow players to continue participating in the sport in a seamless manner between both organizations. Baseball House League (kindergarten through eighth grade) is a community-based program for beginners through the most experienced players. Bronco and Pony House League programs will engage in a semi-competitive, travel-like league called the North Shore House Baseball League. All other age groups will play games in-house against other teams in their age groups. All House League divisions are centered on learning and developing the fundamentals of the game. Baseball House League play begins on April 3. For more information, and to register for programs, visit www.lfparksandrec.com or call (847) 234-6700.

 Lake Bluff

Board of Trustees adopts 2023 Strategic Plan

The Lake Bluff Board of Trustees unanimously adopted the village’s 2023 Strategic Plan during its meeting on Feb. 27. The plan aims to unite policies, resources and stakeholders in service of the village’s health and vitality. The plan covers a wide variety of topics that affect Lake Bluff’s quality of life, including volunteerism, environmental conservation, business development, fiscal policy and municipal services. The village hired Lynn Montei Associates in July 2016 to assist in developing the 2023 Strategic Plan. The seven-month process relied on two groups of volunteers: one to design and steer the plan process, and one to synthesize ideas and draft the plan. In addition, three public workshops were held for the community to provide input. The adopted plan can be viewed on the village website at www.lakebluff.org.
