Lake County Chamber names new executive director

Shaunese Teamer has led numerous marketing campaigns for award-winning television productions and in 2016 garnered a Chicago/Midwest Emmy Award for television station WYCC PBS Chicago for the documentary, “Chicago’s True Nature: The Forest Preserves of Cook County.”

The Board of Directors of the Lake County Chamber of Commerce has appointed Shaunese Teamer as executive director of the Lake County Chamber of Commerce.

Teamer brings more than 25 years of marketing and public relations experience to the Chamber having worked with both nonprofit and commercial clients in developing community outreach initiatives and strategic marketing campaigns. Most recently she was employed as director of revenue and development for public television station WYCC PBS Chicago.

Teamer makes her return as executive director of the Chamber having previously held the position from 2011-13. She joined the Chamber from Window to the World Communications, Inc., the parent company of Chicago public television station WTTW-11, where she served as manager of community outreach and national publicity and advertising sales manager. With broad experience in cultivating business and community based partnerships, Shaunese was responsible for coordinating innovative membership campaigns as well as developing national publicity strategies for a wide range of television network programming. Teamer also held positions within the Chicago Mercantile Exchange Executive and Information Services Division, responsible for coordinating CME member meetings and preparing opening day stock market quotes for the trading floor.

With a BA Degree in Broadcast Communications from Columbia College Chicago, Teamer has led numerous marketing campaigns for award-winning television productions and in 2016 garnered a Chicago/Midwest Emmy Award for television station WYCC PBS Chicago for the documentary, “Chicago’s True Nature: The Forest Preserves of Cook County.”

With a strong background in civic support, Teamer also served on the Lake County Community Foundation board; the Lake County Partners Micro Loan Committee; North Chicago City Council and in 2012 was appointed by the Illinois State Board of Education to serve on the Financial Oversight Panel for School District 187, where she served for six years.

New Office Space with Enhanced Programming

“The Lake County Chamber board is pleased to have Ms. Teamer back at the Chamber,” said Nell Rice, chairman of the LCCC Board. “Her management style and energy has been a pivotal force in redeveloping enhanced programming for members and she has led the organizations transition into our new office space.”

Chamber to host shopping fair

The Lake County Chamber of Commerce will host a Lunch & Learn Holiday Shopping Fair at the White Deer Run Golf Club in Vernon Hills on Dec. 18. With a full day of shopping between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m., luncheon attendees, as well as the public, will have an opportunity to shop for the holidays as well as obtain information from vendor tables providing a variety of products and services. The luncheon begins at 11:30 a.m. and will feature guest speaker Marvin Bembry, president of MKB Leadership Transformation who will speak on “Transformational Leadership: How to Maximize your Leadership with those you Lead.”
