Woodstock

City offers vacant property to public via sealed bids

The city’s Building & Zoning Department reported that a vacant property, located at 315 W. Judd St. in the Woodstock Downtown Business Historic Preservation District, is being offered for sale to the public via sealed bids. The property, consisting of a single-family residence and a detached garage, was abandoned by the previous owner at least two years ago. The city is seeking a qualified buyer who can return the property to a viable residence that will enhance the neighborhood and preserve the historic character of the house, with work being completed in a timely manner and not negatively impacting surrounding properties. Based on zoning and lot size, the structure may only be used as a single-family residence. Sealed bids, including project proposals for the property, must be delivered to the City Manager, 121 W. Calhoun St., Woodstock, Ill. 60098 by 4 p.m. July 15. Envelopes must be marked, “Bid for 315 W. Judd Street.” Bids will be opened at the Woodstock City Council meeting on July 19.
