Mozart, Mendelssohn to be Featured in Eureka College Choral Concert

EUREKA – The Eureka College Chorale and Chamber Singers will hold their fall concert at 4 p.m. Nov. 16 in Becker Auditorium in the Cerf College Center. The concert is free and open to the public. A reception will follow.

The program titled “Mozart, Mendelssohn and More” will include Mozart’s “Missa in C, K.257 (Credo Mass)” featuring the Eureka College Chorale and guest soloists Debra Austin, Phillip Haworth, Pete Driscoll and Eureka College adjunct music professor Dr. Elizabeth Ducey Moss. The Chorale also will perform Mendelssohn’s “He Watching Over Israel” from the oratorio “Elijah” and George Gershwin’s “Clap Yo’ Hands.” The Chamber Singers will perform a repertoire representing 1h century composers including Orlando di Lasso, Hans Leo Hassler,  Adriano Banchieri and Cristóbal de Morales.
Music professor Dr. Joseph D. Henry will direct the vocal ensembles. Assistant professor of music Pamela Bates will accompany on piano.
