The McHenry County Department of Health has closed Veterans Park Island beach in Island Park for having elevated bacteria levels. The Health Department conducted beach water samplings at 37 licensed beaches on July 2.

The McHenry County Department of Health will retest the waters at Veterans Park Beach on Friday, July 3.
