Drug induced homicide arrest

Trigg

Herman B. Trigg

On April 4, the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office responded to a home in the 3100 block of W. Lincoln Road, McHenry, Illinois for a death investigation. Shortly after deputies arrived, the scene was turned over to the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Task Force (which includes Lake in the Hills Police Department).

Detectives recovered evidence indicating the victim, a 29-year-old woman, may have ingested heroin prior to her death. During the investigation, detectives determined that Herman B. Trigg had allegedly supplied heroin to the victim.

On April 6, detectives arrested Trigg during a sting operation near the deceased woman’s residence and found 1.2 grams of heroin and 0.6 grams of cannabis in his possession.

Following that arrest, detectives worked closely with the McHenry County State’s Attorney’s Office and the McHenry County Coroner and obtained an arrest warrant for Trigg for Drug Induced Homicide.

On July 24, members of the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Task Force and Crystal Lake Police Department took Herman B. Trigg into custody without incident at his residence in the 300 block of Ambassador Lane, Crystal Lake, Illinois.
