Heavy rains bring flood warning for McLean County

The National Weather Service has put out a flood warning this morning for much of McLean County following the heavy rains this week. The warning is in effect until 9:45 a.m. Thursday, July 9.

which was hit by up to 3 inches of rain Wednesday, according to the NWS.

Authorities are reporting standing water on numerous roads in the county and the McLean County Sheriff’s Police reportedly are warning that many rural roads may be closed entirely.

The NWS has identified the area with the most flooding concerns as Interstate 55 between mile markers 142 and 159 and Interstate 74 between mile markers 132 and 147.

Motorists are to use extreme caution when driving in these areas.
