ICC Speech Team Earns Silver Medal, Several Individual Awards in National Speech Tournament

The Illinois Central College Speech Team earned a Silver Medal in Team Sweepstakes, as well as several individual awards at the Phi Rho Pi national speech tournament for community colleges April 6-11 in Cleveland, Ohio.

Fifty-nine schools from across the nation competed this year.

Samantha Meismer of Peoria, , participated on the team and earned a Silver individual award in Program of Oral Interpretation, as well as earned National Champion in IPDA Debate.

Mark Nabors of East Peoria, IL, participated on the team and earned a Bronze individual award in Extemporaneous, as well as earned National Champion in Impromptu.
