Auto execs & union aid United Way efforts

Representatives of FCA US LLC (formerly Chrysler Group LLC) and United Auto Workers Local 1268/1761 pledged a total of $385,807.39 to United Way of Rock River Valley’s community impact fund, which supports investments in strategies and programs that strengthen the education, income and health of the area.

As part of FCA US Give Where You Live campaign, funds are allocated to local United Ways throughout Northern Illinois and Southern Wisconsin.

“The generous support from FCA US and UAW has a radiating effect on our community,” said Paul A. Logli, CEO/President of United Way of Rock River Valley. “This really improves the quality of life for many, many people in our region.”

The announcement, which was held as a check presentation at 1268 UAW Hall, is another great example of how the corporate-organized labor partnership has a powerful impact on the people of the Rock River Valley.

“This represents the dedication of not only FCA US but also the men and women of organized labor UAW who choose to support our community,” said Logli. “Our community is amidst some pressing challenges and the fact that hard working, successful people are willing to lend a helping hand to their neighbors demonstrates a spirit of living united.”

In addition to the workplace campaign, FCA US is a regular participant in United Way’s Day of Caring service projects, and dedicates time to its employee campaign team to learn more about United Way’s community impact through training events and partner agency visits.
