Peach Cobbler Using Bisquick
I have to admit that this recipe is easy, but I must also admit that mine didn’t look like the photograph on FaceBook. The original recipe calls for all the sugar to be mixed with the peaches, but I found that if you got a bite of the cakey part without the peaches, there was no sweetness to it, and it was disconcerting. So I advise you to put a little of the sugar in the dough part, as I have directed in this recipe. I didn’t like the nutmeg in the dish, and in the future I will just use cinnamon.

2 C fresh peaches or one 29 oz can of peaches, well drained
1 C Bisquick
1 C milk
½ t nutmeg (optional)
½ t cinnamon
½ C butter, melted
1 C sugar, divided

Preheat oven to 375°.
In an 8 x 8 baking dish, stir Bisquick mix, milk, nutmeg, cinnamon and 1/3 C sugar together until thoroughly mixed. Stir in melted butter.

In a medium mixing bowl, stir 2/3 C sugar and peaches. Spoon peaches over the Bisquick mixture. Bake for one hour or until crust is a golden brown. Serve warm with vanilla ice cream.
