Kiwanis holds its first soap box derby at Eureka Lake

At the first Kiwanis Soap Box Derby held at Eureka Lake the morning of  Sept.  5, racers came from Eureka, Goodfield, Gardner, Texas and Missouri.  The event was sponsored by CEFC and was put on by the Eureka Greater Area Kiwanis Club.

The  two classifications were the lightweight group and the heavyweight group.

Winners in the lightweight were: first place Grady Wesner,  Eureka; second place Ari Vanmiddlesworth, Goodfield;, and third  place Aiden Elliott Kozk,  Eureka.

The heavyweight group winners (each around 100 pounds) were: first place Joanna Moser, Roanoke; second place  Katie Duncan, Missouri; and third place Ethan Currie, Texas.

The grand prize winner went to Joanna Moser who brought her own car.
