Mike Everett, New ICC Board Trustee

The Illinois Central College Board of Trustees has selected Mike Everett of Washington to fill the vacancy left by Tim Elder’s October resignation. Everett will complete the term, which runs through April 2015.

Everett is currently the Business development Director for the West Central Illinois Building Trades Council. He has maintained a long-term relationship with ICC through his involvement with the IBEW Local Union #34’s and the Peoria Chapter of the National Electrical Contractors Association’s apprenticeship program, which utilizes ICC for specific pieces of the training curriculum. He also worked closely with ICC representatives in the Focus Forward Central Illinois (FFCI) initiative and serves on the FFCI Board of Directors.

“Mr. Everett brings to ICC his decades of experience from the many community not-for-profits in which he has served,” said ICC Board of Trustees Chair Katherine Coyle. “As a resident of Tazewell County, he also brings geographic diversity to the Board, in which a majority of our members hail from Peoria County.”

Everett said he looks forward to helping ICC maintain its focus on preparing tomorrow’s workforce for the high-tech employment opportunities he believes will be drawn to the region.

“ICC has already played a very important role in our local workforce training for many years,” he said. “ICC must and will be at the forefront as we take unprecedented regional approach to the economic future of central Illinois.”
