License Plates Help Drive Away Child Abuse

PEORIA – Commemorating April as Child Abuse Prevention Month, the Pediatric Resource Center (PRC) is raising awareness and funds in the fight against child abuse and neglect by offering limited-time, special “Stop Child Abuse” vehicle license plates.

The temporary license plates are available for purchase from the PRC for $40 a pair. The plates may be displayed on vehicles from March 2 through April 30. All proceeds benefit the PRC in their work to help abused and neglected children throughout Illinois.

Passenger cars, B-trucks, motorcycles and RVs weighing less than 8,000 pounds are eligible to display the special plates. A copy of the owner’s vehicle registration is required. They also may be purchased as a souvenir. Of the $40 purchase, $31 is tax deductible. Plates may be attached or removed at any Pearl Automotive location free of charge. For questions or to fill out a registration form, email prcinfo@uicomp.uic.edu or call the PRC at 309-624-9595 or 877-262-6122. Only a limited number of plates are available.
