Catholic singer-songwriter Hermana Glenda will perform a benefit concert at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at St. Michael Parish in Orland Park.

Glenda is a sister who is a member of the Order of Consecrated Virgins.

“We are very excited to have Hermana Glenda visit the Chicago area to perform at our parish,” said the Rev. Miguel Flores, associate pastor at St. Michael. “It’s an opportunity to offer our parishioners and our guests a chance for prayer and evangelization as well as an encounter with our resurrected Lord during this Easter season.”

Glenda was born in Chile. Her musical career began in 1998 with her first compact disc, “A solas con Dios” or “Alone with God.”

She first gained international recognition at World Youth Day 2002 in Toronto, where she sang “Nada es Imposible para Ti” before Pope John Paul II and hundreds of thousands of participants during the closing Mass.

Tickets are $15 and will be available at the door. Proceeds will benefit Hispanic ministry efforts at St. Michael Parish.

The parish is located at 14327 Highland Ave., Orland Park.

For information, call 708-873-4619 or 708-349-0903.
