Teen charged with 2022 armed robbery

An 18-year-old has been charged with two felonies in connection with a 2022 armed robbery on Chicago’s South Side.

He was charged with robbery armed with a firearm and kidnapping armed with a firearm.

The teen was scheduled to have a Juvenile Detention Hearing on Saturday, Jan. 20.

He was charged as a juvenile because he was under 18 years of age at the time of the incident.

Members of the Great Lakes Regional Fugitive Task Force arrested the teen on Friday, Jan. 19, on the 8400 block of South Racine Avenue.

Police said he was identified as one of the offenders who, at 6:30 a.m. Nov. 26, 2022, forced a 25-year-old man to the 300 block of West 83rd Street at gunpoint before taking the man’s personal property.
