National Day of Prayer

The National Day of Prayer has become an observance across the nation, designed to unite all Americans in prayer. St. John Lutheran Church is a registered site for the observation. The church will host a prayer vigil, and its sanctuary will be open to the public for those who wish to come in and pray. Guests may also write their prayer requests and place them on crosses so others will pray for them.

Tickled Pink

The Elmhurst Junior Women’s Club will present its 10th Tickled Pink, a breast cancer boutique to support the Elmhurst Memorial Healthcare Breast Health Center. Tickled Pink is for both adults and children. Adults can enjoy shopping, appetizers, drinks and desserts with amazing raffles for jewelry and Chicago Cubs tickets. Walsh’s adaptation of “A Tale of Two Cities” is a full-blooded adventure, filled with corruption, revolution, romance and redemption. The library’s 7th annual Genealogy Day theme is Crime, Fame and Other Genealogical Confessions. Three presentations will be featured. They are Genetic Genealogy with Robert Sliwinski; Are You Related to Someone Famous? with Bob Allen; and Where the Murderers Roam with Daniel Hubbard.
