Oswego’s Main St. featured a colorful collection of 200 quilts at last Saturday’s first Celebration of Quilts.

The event was spurred by a Main St. business—Prairie Stitches Quilt Shoppe­—and endorsed by village officials who secured two full blocks of downtown and provided police and traffic control for the day-long event. Beautiful weather helped draw an appreciative crowd who viewed finished quilts and checked out supplies and materials to make their own. The event also featured demonstrations, an appraiser and even a garage sale conducted by a nearby senior center.  All photos by News Bulletin staff.
