Enjoy chamber-style music at the Anderson Japanese Gardens in Rockford on Sunday, June 26, with “Strings on Sunday” featuring the music of the Turtle Creek Chamber Orchestra. Tickets are $50 each and include admission and round-trip transportation, which departs at 1 p.m. from the Hemmens Cultural Center in Elgin. On Tuesday, July 26, Ravinia presents an exciting premiere staging of Stravinsky’s The Firebird with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Ben Gernon. A bus will depart from the Hemmens Cultural Center at 3 pm. Tickets for transportation and Pavilion seating are $80 per person and do not include dinner. Seating is limited to 30. Symbolism in Chinese Jade, through Aug. 21, Lizzadro Museum of Lapidary Art, 220 Cottage Hill, Elmhurst. The Museum’s permanent collection of jade carvings is filled with auspicious Chinese symbolism. Millennium Carrillon Summer Recital Series, Tuesday, 7 p.m., Millennium Carrillon, Naperville, Talented carillonneurs from across the country and all over the world delight concert goers with an evening of music. Free performances are held rain or shine (unless there is lightning). Picnicking on the lawns surrounding the tower is welcome. Free Family Fun Day at Blackberry Farm, 100 S. Barnes Road, Aurora, 9:30 a.m. – 3 p.m. Free admission for all Illinois residents (ID required). They’re quite popular, so expect big crowds and frequent lines for some of the attractions. Farm hours today are from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The Stingrays at McCullough Park, 150 W. Illinois Ave., Aurora, 7:30 p.m. Chicagoland’s 50s, 60s and 70s Rock & Roll Oldies band the Stingrays play the greatest music every written with the energy, passion and authenticity of the artists they love.
